Project Description:
A great deal of excellent research has been carried out on mycotoxins in food. To fully maximise the benefits that this work can bring, the research needs to be communicated to industry in a comprehensible form. There remains much scope for creating a better understanding of the problems caused by mycotoxins, particularly within SME's. This network will focus on transferring information (on all aspects of mycotoxins) to relevant bodies, and will promote and encourage communication across Europe. The network will take the form of a group of multi-disciplinary experts and national contact points, working primarily through an internet web-site, issuing information/fact sheets, organising on-line training courses and conference/workshops. Ultimately the network will provide a means of alerting the food industry to mycotoxin-related problems and directing them to the means of solving the problems.
